The Leader's Christmas |
 |
We love to decorate for Christmas (some would say we go a
bit overboard) but we do not think so. Below are a few images
of our decorations. The formal family tree in the living room
is loaded with Old World blown glass ornaments. We have been
collecting the ornaments since 1997. Our collection contains
over 400 ornaments. Many of the ornaments have a special meaning;
from a special place we visited on vacation, an ornament for
each of our nieces and nephews when they were born, some of
our favorite food items, and of course there are Disney ornaments.
We get so carried away we even put up Christmas curtains. Doug
has a feather tree which contains over 50 tiny blown glass ornaments.
We also have several Clothtique Santas like Marti and Nelson
collect. We have a fisherman and a santa tying flies and a santa
blowing glass ornaments.

The dining room has antique decorations. Doug loves the old
fashioned bubble lights so we put those on a garland above
the doorway and on the tree in the dining room. The tree is
filled with antique glass ornaments. The are a few large blown/mercury
glass figurines on display in the dining room also.

In 2007 we added to our Christmas decorations with a Disney
theme Christmas tree. We vacationed in Disney World in 2006
and picked up Mickey shaped lights and many Disney ornaments.
This tree sits in our upstairs hallway for everyone to enjoy.

The bathroom even gets decorated. Ever since Doug and Tina
were married there have been penguins appearing at various
times throughout the year. So we used penguins as the decorating
theme for the bathroom, now we have a place to display our
collection.

Ariel and Madison even decorate in their bedrooms. Since
they were little they had their own Christmas trees in their
own rooms, with their own decorations. Santa always delivered
their presents under their own trees. Ariel recently redecorated
her bedroom and does not have room for a big tree anymore
so she is looking for new decorations to match her room, until
then she is using a tiny shinny tree.
